PDF is the preferred format for sharing documents that need to preserve their overall structure... but sooner or later we all find some detail or element that needs to be edited. That's why we always welcome tools like PDF24 Toolbox, which offers dozens of functions in a free offline package.
From outdated information to serious errors that need correction, modifying some PDF files is inevitable. Even Adobe itself offers a basic online editor to inject text and comments, but there are much more complete tools worth exploring. We recently talked about PDFTool, which can work offline without any issues, and following the same line comes PDF24 Toolbox, with a 300-megabyte download.
How to modify PDF documents with PDF24 Toolbox
Why is it so big? Because besides including all its dependencies (a Java installation and Microsoft Edge's WebView2), PDF24 Toolbox offers a list of 36 functions, including PDF conversion and compression, page extraction and deletion, protection, unlocking, splitting, rotation, optimization for online distribution, watermark and digital signature, metadata editing, merging two or more documents, and the transformation of images to PDF.
Additionally, there's the installation of PDF24 Creator (essentially an alternative tool with a certain focus on organizing PDFs), the PDF24 Reader, and the PDF24 OCR application for text recognition (this module must download the Tesseract engine from the web). A detail to keep in mind is that if we load any of these tools and then close it, the process also closes the PDF24 Toolbox interface, but its icon remains in the system tray and we can open it from there.
Finally, the configuration section allows us to change the language (although it should detect Spanish on your operating system), specify image quality and dots per inch, disable features we don't use, and install a virtual printer if needed. Personally, I think PDF24 Toolbox puts a bit more pressure on the system due to its dependence on WebView2 and Java, but it has behaved very well during testing. Download below!
