Pimax announced the Crystal Pro on October 6, 2026, as a PC VR headset focused on wireless streaming. Its reported U.S. announcement price was $1,399, and Pimax’s reported plan is to ship it sometime in 2027.
Pimax announced Crystal Pro at a reported $1,399
The $1,399 figure is the reported U.S. announcement price for the headset. The third-generation 60G AirLink wireless kit is optional, with a separately reported price of $599.
Pimax positions the Crystal Pro around wireless PC VR, while also designing it to run compatible OpenXR mobile VR titles and Android applications. Steam Frame was named as a point of comparison for the wireless PC VR focus, but the announcement does not provide a basis for a measured, side-by-side comparison.
Wireless PC VR and native apps
The reported package includes a Wi-Fi 6E adapter for wireless PC VR streaming. A DisplayPort 1.4a cable is an optional wired connection. The headset is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 for compatible OpenXR mobile VR titles and Android apps.
The optional 60G AirLink kit uses two antennas and 2×2 MIMO on the 60 GHz band. Pimax claims it can deliver up to 6 Gbps with under 2 ms of added latency; those are company performance claims, not independent measurements. With the kit installed, the headset is also described as supporting foveated streaming, which concentrates detail where the wearer is looking.
Reported display specifications and PC requirements
The announced specifications list QLED displays with Mini-LED local dimming, at 2,880 × 2,880 pixels per eye. Other listed display figures are a 110° horizontal field of view, 35 pixels per degree (PPD), refresh-rate modes of 72, 90 and 120 Hz, 576 dimming zones per eye, and 200 nits of brightness. The lenses are aspheric glass.
The headset’s reported eye-tracking system uses ten infrared emitters per eye and samples at 120 Hz. It is intended to support dynamic foveated rendering, which reduces rendering detail outside the wearer’s focus. For inside-out tracking, Pimax SLAM 2.0 is listed with four cameras, a motion sensor and infrared illumination for low-light tracking.
Pimax lists an RTX 2070 or above as the minimum PC graphics requirement, with an RTX 3080 / RTX 4070 or above recommended. Those thresholds help set expectations for a PC VR setup; the headset’s native apps use its Snapdragon processor instead.
What the reported package includes
The reported package includes two ringed SLAM controllers, a Wi-Fi 6E adapter and a 16,000 mAh external battery pack. The headset itself has no built-in battery. The 60G AirLink kit and DisplayPort 1.4a cable are optional.
Other listed options include a Lighthouse faceplate for base-station tracking, an MR faceplate with full-color passthrough and LiDAR depth sensing, and DMAS 2.0 earphones. The headset also has three remappable buttons, three microphones and off-ear speakers.
