As announced on the official blog of PlayStation, Sony presented its first State of Play of the year with more than a dozen games, several new features, confirmations, and a certain emphasis on sequels. If you missed it, the full stream is below, but we have also selected some trailers to highlight the most interesting, without ignoring their potential to come to PC.
PlayStation State of Play, Complete Show
Sony needed just over 40 minutes to share a wide selection of games, send love to its PlayStation VR2 headset, and drop a couple of In Development surprises that left us wanting more. The video has no official timestamps, but a hero created them in the first comment.
Silent Hill: The Short Message
Okay, this took more than one by surprise. Silent Hill: The Short Message tells the story of Anita, who searches for her friend Maya in an abandoned building with a terrible reputation for suicides and disappearances. Anita crosses the threshold... and what she finds on the other side is nothing good. Instead, what is good is its price: The Short Message is free, it is already available, and you can finish it in a couple of hours.
Silent Hill 2 Remake
If there is a weak point in the classic version of Silent Hill 2, it is the combat, and the latest trailer focuses exclusively on that. James Sunderland seems to have borrowed Leon S. Kennedy's manual when it comes to dishing out hits and bullets... but I have noticed many negative comments. Perhaps it was a good idea not to release a release date. Silent Hill 2 is the best in the franchise, and fans demand perfection.
Judas
"I know you like BioShock, so I took BioShock, and put more BioShock in your BioShock." Bad joke aside, Irrational Games closed its doors in 2017, and Kevin Levine, creator of BioShock, founded Ghost Story Games almost at the same time. That means Judas has been in development for years, and everything seems to indicate that we won't see it at least until 2025.
Metro Awakening VR
"Artyom, is that you?" No, no, no. The available information tells us that Metro Awakening VR focuses on a character named Serdar, a desperate doctor trying to find his wife and the medicine she needs. From a chronological point of view, Awakening is a prequel, and it will be exclusive to virtual reality... but not to VR2. Meta people also shared the trailer...
Dragon's Dogma 2
The original game and its enhanced version sold almost eight million copies. To this was added an MMO and an anime adaptation for Netflix. Saying that the second part has been long awaited is no exaggeration, and its most recent trailer points directly at action. As expected, fans are analyzing every second of the video, and its imminent release (March 22) only fuels the hype.
Rise of the Ronin
A measure of Sekiro, a touch of Ghost of Tsushima, a spoonful of Assassin's Creed, beat lightly and serve. All this, deployed in one of the most complex moments of Japanese history such as the Bakumatsu. The sword duels look great, but our ronin doesn't hesitate to switch to Indiana Jones mode and execute opponents using firearms. Rise of the Ronin will be exclusive to PS5 and shares a release date with Dragon's Dogma 2.
Until Dawn
The original version of Until Dawn dates back to 2015. Its success led to a virtual reality spin-off, a prequel, and a "spiritual successor" in the form of "The Quarry", but the classic is back, updated and optimized for PS5 and PC. Eight characters, a remote cabin, risks, moral decisions... if you like the slasher genre, you might want to take a closer look.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
100 percent, Platinum, all achievements, 168 hours of play. I explored every possible corner of Death Stranding, devoured its story from beginning to end... and I would be exaggerating if I said I understood 20 percent of the trailer. Sam is there, as is Fragile (don't ask me about the black and white), and Higgs returned from the beach crazier than ever, just to fight a giant robot that has inside it... Lou? And the marionette? And the woman with thorns? Why does Elle Fanning have threads? It's too much... and we have to wait until 2025. Kojimaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
