The "game" became world-famous when the Angry Video Game Nerd dedicated one of his funniest videos to it. Since 1993 and until then, this aberration had been well hidden in the catalog of the Panasonic 3DO, the failed 32-bit console that no one cared about. And with a very limited run on its PC version, it was very difficult to get a copy of this garbage to experience all the second-hand embarrassment a thing can generate. But the wait is over!
Still, I recommend you don't waste your time downloading it. Although "Plumbers Dont Wear Ties" is a total oddity, better watch a video than go through the trauma of experiencing it first-hand. It's an "interactive movie for adults" that abuses still photos, whose screenplay makes no sense, and with jokes as bad as its production. The story follows two characters that look like they came out of a 90s porno. One is John, the plumber who wears a tie (which completely contradicts the name of the game). The other is Jane, an unemployed woman DESPERATELY looking for work At the start, it's clear that both are single and like each other. They cross paths when Jane is heading to a job interview. The game's structure is simple. It's like one of those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books but with photos. You look at a few still photos with a narrator's voice telling the story, until it's time to make a decision. What kind of decision? Something like this, for example: "Will you let the HR manager sexually abuse you to get the job?" And it's not a joke.
In short, a horrible game that is only fun through the eyes of guys like James Rolfe and similar. However, the news here is that you can already play it, if you really want to. And it's that recently the game was uploaded to the web for the first time since its existence by user psychoticgiraffe, who recovered and compiled a copy so we can all experience the horror. The folder, which you can download here, contains absolutely everything needed to run it. You just need to double-click the file 'START THE GAME.bat' to begin the ordeal, which runs under DOSBOX.
