Pro Evolution Soccer 2016: 20 Years of Football
PES 2016

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Konami's football simulator. To celebrate, Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is gearing up to offer a new gameplay experience that will establish the game as the definitive football experience.

From its humble origins on the first PlayStation, the Pro Evolution Soccer series has moved from one format to another, consistently adding realism as part of its evolution. To maintain that heritage, Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 (PES 2016) is ready to deliver new gameplay that will set the game as the ultimate football experience. Given that recently the franchise hasn't been at its best, being outshone by the current king of the pitch, FIFA, this new Konami title might just surprise us and reclaim its leadership.

Among the improvements in PES 2016, we can highlight the Master League, which introduces a new player transfer system; AI improvements, especially for goalkeepers; the dynamic weather system, which allows the climate to change during the match with enhanced effects (thanks to the Fox Engine); and the popular mode that debuted in PES 2015, myClub, which now includes a new player level system.

A few days ago, Adam Bhatti, the product manager for PES 2016 in Europe, communicated via Twitter some bad news for Xbox One users. “On Xbox One we are going to stay just below native 1080p to keep the frame rate high and the game quality,” said Bhatti.

Remember that PES 2015 on Xbox One had a resolution of 720p, and this year they had promised it would be 1080p in PES 2016. It hasn't been confirmed yet what resolution the game will finally have on Microsoft's console, so we'll have to wait. And what better way to do that than to enjoy the demo that is already available and see for yourself if this new installment does justice to the franchise. Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is being developed by PES Productions and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One starting September 17, 2015 in European territory.
