That's why we've thought of you and we'll present four programs to search files for similar or duplicate audio. The platforms we'll list are very easy to use. All you have to do is select the folder to scan and determine the search criteria so the environments do their work.
Similarity
Similarity is a program to search for similar or duplicate files in the system. Its use is very simple: the first thing you have to do is select the folder to scan from the “From Tools” option, and from there you can configure the comparison method for audio files (tags, content, precision and duration). Once you determine the search method, you just need to click “Play” and start the scan. Then the results will be listed. The platform is available for free for Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
Anti-Twin
With Anti-Twin you will have two methods to search for similar or duplicate files on your computer. With one method you can compare all files in the selected folders and subfolders (you can select more than one folder) by name, size, extension and tags. With the other method, you can compare the content of files byte by byte. The result will list all the information for each file. The environment is available for Windows operating systems.
dupeGuru
dupeGuru is a very simple tool to scan for similar and duplicate files on your computer. To search for duplicate files on the system, first select the “Music” option and then you'll have to choose the scan mode. Depending on your needs, you can filter searches by file name, tags or contents, among other options. Then you just need to select the folder and start the scan. The platform will list the results in a pop-up window. The environment is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.
AllDup
We'll finish with AllDup, a platform that offers several methods to search for duplicate and similar files on your system (name, size, content, last modification date, creation date, attributes and Hard Link). The environment also has a deep scan, which doesn't let any similar or duplicate audio files escape. The utility is free and is available for Windows operating systems.
