Sony lists 26.07-14.20.00 as the latest PS5 software version. Gezine’s October 19, 2026, post accompanied a reported Debug Settings demonstration on firmware 14.10; Polygon reported the menu access, and By Design and MODDED WARFARE described the work as private in explainers published October 19 and 20. They identified no public tool or release date.

What the 14.10 demonstration showed

Polygon said the demonstration opened Debug Settings on a PS5 running firmware 14.10. The publication interpreted that access as implying kernel-level access, meaning access at the core of the operating system.

On October 19, Gezine said the kernel exploit he used on 13.xx was patched at 14.00 and that the 14.10 work was not Relapse. These are separate exploit developments, according to Gezine.

Why game-file access remains a separate hurdle

Gezine said the old method for dumping executables did not seem to work on 14.xx. He suggested a hypervisor exploit might be needed, describing a possible requirement rather than a completed bypass.

Polygon reported on October 20 that no known method was available to dump GTA VI’s game files for emulation or other access. The 14.10 Debug Settings demonstration therefore does not provide a reported route to those files.
