With the arrival of virtual reality, an evolution in upcoming games is expected. And with Raw Data we can attest that we are facing an incredible FPS in VR, one of the most advanced in the genre.
The story of Raw Data presents us with Eden Corp, an evil company involved in the theft of human brains to use them in cyborgs and sell them for profit. Your mission is to infiltrate their headquarters, extract the data about their sinister plan, and escape to expose them to the world. The only thing standing between you and success is an army of androids that has one thing in mind: annihilate. Fortunately, you have at your disposal a complete catalog of weapons and next-generation defense systems, courtesy of Eden Corp.
https://vimeo.com/155190218Built from scratch for HTC Vive, Raw Data is a multiplayer science fiction FPS that makes use of virtual reality mechanics. As can be seen in the video, two players move freely around their own play spaces, whether crouching, dodging, taking cover behind computer terminals, and attacking enemies. At first you start with a pistol on your hip and a light saber on your back, but as you progress through waves you obtain new weapons, such as a shotgun or a bow and arrow, where you must move your arms pulling back as if you were shooting an arrow in real life.
That is what makes Raw Data so addictive, its constantly changing gameplay. The enemies also become smarter and stronger, starting with simple unarmed androids to lethal killer machines armed to the teeth and with movements as agile as a ninja's that attack from all angles. And this is where communication with the other player comes into play, whether to coordinate a strategy or ask for help when we are in danger, something fundamental if you want to survive. Raw Data is being developed by Survios and will be available on Oculus, Sony VR, and HTC. For the moment, the game does not have a concrete release date.
