Reports published on October 13 said stable One UI 9, based on Android 17, was reaching carrier-locked Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra phones in the United States. SamMobile reported the carrier-locked models, while GSMArena named S24 devices on AT&T and T-Mobile.

SamMobile’s October 13 report said factory-unlocked S24 variants were expected later. GSMArena’s separate report concerned unlocked U.S. Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 phones, not unlocked S24 models. NeoTeo previously covered One UI 9 reaching more Galaxy phones.

The reported expansion beyond South Korea

Forbes reported that the rollout expanded beyond South Korea on October 12, reaching Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, and Galaxy A57 devices in selected markets. Thailand and Indonesia were among the early markets named; Forbes also reported user sightings in Germany, Italy, and India. Those reports describe a staggered rollout, with availability varying by market and device. Forbes’ account of the expansion cites update tracker Tarun Vats.

U.S. firmware details

For the carrier-locked U.S. Galaxy S24 Ultra, SamMobile listed firmware S928USQU6EZIF and a download size of 3,909.81 MB. GSMArena reported that U.S. S24-series builds end in EZIF and carry the September 2026 security patch.

A separate SamMobile report listed these international firmware builds and said the Europe and India rollout it described was limited to users enrolled in the One UI 9 beta program:

The build identifiers are tied to specific models and regions. SamMobile’s international rollout report gives the four model-to-build pairings.

SamMobile describes One UI 9 changes from One UI 8.5 that include a more customizable Quick Panel, enhancements to Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes, accessibility updates, a location privacy indicator, and AI features. (SamMobile’s U.S. rollout report)
