Reports published November 5, 2026, said Blue Origin had moved New Glenn’s return-to-flight target to January 2027, from an earlier goal of flying before year-end. At UP.Summit that day, CEO Dave Limp gave a narrower window: the first or second week of January, according to Florida Today.

NeoTeo previously covered the possibility of a November return in an earlier report. The newer reported target moves that timeline to January.

Why the target moved

Limp attributed the delay to rebuilding the launch complex at Cape Canaveral and adverse weather. New Glenn exploded during a static-fire test at Space Launch Complex 36 on May 28, 2026. WESH and Florida Today reported that the failure involved the main oxygen valve on one BE-4 engine.

The schedule update came alongside work to rebuild the launch complex and prepare the next vehicle.

What recovery work was reported

Reuters reported that the Vehicle Access Tower had been repaired and restacked and the launch bridge restored. Florida Today reported that the next first-stage booster was ready; an upper-stage hot-fire test was expected within a week or two of Limp’s November 5 remarks.
