Rick and Morty returns with a very unexpected premiere

A surprise premiere

The success of the animated series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim has built enormous anticipation for a new season that still has no release date. But on Saturday we got a surprise. At first it seemed like an April Fools' joke, since an official tweet announced the arrival of a new episode. In the end it really happened, and the episode was broadcast on the Adult Swim website for the whole day.

The show

Rick and Morty belongs to a group of cartoons (South Park, Family Guy) that deliver a scathing critique of political power and social behavior. The zany adventures of Rick Sanchez, a mad scientist who is constantly drunk and moves into his daughter Beth's house with his family, chooses his grandson Morty as one of his victims to justify all sorts of craziness in each episode. As for Mortimer Smith an insecure and self-conscious teenager who has developed a strong paranoia thanks to his grandfather and their space travels, he is a very interesting character and the moralizing half of this amazing duo.

The premiere episode

In this premiere titled The Rickshank Rickdemption we see how the second season's cliffhanger is resolved, which left Rick imprisoned by aliens and Earth doomed to the New Order. These are twenty frantic minutes of non-stop action that will keep you laughing.

What's next?

For now we have no date for the next chapter, but it's speculated that something more will come before June. Meanwhile, we can enjoy a marathon of the two existing seasons that Adult Swim has made available, which you can find at this link. You can also watch both seasons on Netflix.
