Route Generator is a powerful route generator that lets you export routes and their points of interest in three different formats: taking a snapshot of the map you created, importing a Google Maps URL, and the third and most interesting option—generating a video in AVI format. The platform allows you to draw a route with the help of points, on a map or any type of image you can export from your computer.

How to Generate Videos with Route Generator?

Before explaining the step-by-step for creating routes on an image and exporting them as video, we suggest you think of the environment as a painting or photo retouching program—this will make everything simpler.

  • Step one: After you install the utility, go to File and select Open image to add the map or any other image to the work area. If you don't have an image, you can import one from Google Maps: File — Import from Google Maps, then specify the URL in the window that appears. Finally, click Ok.

  • Step two: At this point you can start drawing on the map. You'll need to draw the route with the mouse from your starting point to your destination. You can create the route using points (these will be points of interest). The platform will draw the path on the image automatically. Once you've finished, you can see a preview by clicking the Play button.
  • Step three: Using the "generate" button, you'll generate your video in AVI format, and you'll also export all frames in BMP format (from the settings you can disable the option to save frames).
