Samsung announced the Galaxy A18 4G in France on September 15, 2026, and says the phone is already available there. Samsung France lists the 4GB/128GB configuration at €279, while the standout feature is a software-support promise rarely seen at this price: six generations of operating-system updates and six years of security updates.
Price, configuration and availability
The French model comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for €279. Samsung lists Black, Gray and Light Blue finishes. Its French storefront also advertises up to €50 cashback for eligible purchases made from September 14 through October 18, 2026, subject to the offer’s conditions.
Separate European coverage reports shipping beginning September 18, 2026, in selected markets. Samsung’s French announcement, however, describes the phone as already available in France.
What the Galaxy A18 4G offers
The Galaxy A18 4G uses Samsung’s Exynos 1610 processor and has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 × 2,340 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The documented French model connects through 4G LTE.
Its battery is rated at 5,000mAh and supports 25W wired charging. Samsung says the phone can reach 50% charge in 30 minutes. The handset also carries an IP64 rating for dust protection and resistance to water splashes.
The software arrives as Android 17 with One UI 9.0. Samsung also lists Circle to Search and compatibility with Google Gemini among the phone’s smart features.
Cameras: three rear sensors, but no OIS
The rear camera system combines a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The main camera does not include optical image stabilization. The front camera has 13MP resolution, while rear video recording reaches 1080p at 30 frames per second; HD slow motion is reported at up to 120 frames per second.
That setup covers the familiar entry-level formula: a high-resolution main sensor, an ultra-wide camera for broader scenes and a macro camera for close subjects. The missing OIS is the more notable detail when comparing the phone with its predecessor.
Six generations of updates, but a modest hardware step
Samsung promises six generations of operating-system updates and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A18 4G. That gives the phone a longer software horizon than its price might suggest, although the hardware story is less dramatic.
