Samsung unveils the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ on September 30, 2026, with a scheduled October 7 start for availability in select markets. The larger Ultra has a 14.6-inch display; the S12+ has a 12.6-inch screen. Both run Android 17 with One UI 9 and use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500.
Samsung unveils the Galaxy Tab S12 series
Samsung says availability for the two tablets is scheduled to begin October 7 in select markets. The announcement does not assign that date to any particular country.
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra vs. S12+
The main differences are screen size, rear cameras, Wi-Fi generation and battery capacity. Samsung lists both models with 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays and 45W wired charging.

The Ultra’s hardware and software
Samsung lists the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, Android 17 and One UI 9. Configurations include 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, or 16GB of RAM with 1TB. A microSD card can add up to 2TB of storage.
The tablet measures 208.5 × 326.3 × 5.1mm. Samsung lists the Wi-Fi model at 692g and the 5G model at 695g. The Ultra also has an 11,600mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging; the power adapter is sold separately.
Samsung estimates up to 23 hours of video playback in its pre-release lab test, which used a locally stored 720p video, Bluetooth earphones, default settings and LTE. The company claims the Ultra’s NPU is up to 61% faster, its CPU 19% faster and its GPU 17% faster than the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Those percentages are Samsung’s comparisons against that specific predecessor.
Samsung says the series includes Adobe Photoshop preloaded. It also says the tablet version will be exclusive to Galaxy Store for at least six months from October 7, 2026. Multi Window supports up to three sections. Note Assist requires a Samsung Account, and a note must contain at least 200 characters to be summarized.
S Pen and keyboard
The included S Pen does not support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Samsung sells the Pro Keyboard and Book Cover Keyboard Slim separately. An early hands-on assessment describes the Pro Keyboard connecting through rear pogo pins, without Bluetooth pairing.
