Scaleway announced on October 13, 2026, that it plans to deploy an AI supercomputer in Sweden, built around AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and AMD ROCm. The company says the planned system is intended to serve startups, AI companies and enterprises across Europe. Scaleway made the announcement at ai-PULSE 2026 in Paris. Scaleway’s announcement
The server configuration
Giga Computing describes a multi-rack deployment using direct-liquid-cooled GIGABYTE G4L3-ZX1-LAT4 servers. Its specifications give the configuration for each server and the memory capacity for each GPU. Giga Computing’s announcement
| Component | Specification | Applies to |
| Server | GIGABYTE G4L3-ZX1-LAT4 | Each server |
| GPUs | 8 AMD Instinct MI355X | Each server |
| CPUs | 2 AMD EPYC 9005 | Each server |
| GPU memory | 288 GB HBM3E | Each MI355X GPU |
The counts describe the hardware in each server: eight GPUs and two CPUs. AMD ROCm is the software ecosystem Scaleway named alongside the accelerators for the planned AI infrastructure.
Who is building the infrastructure
Scaleway assigns Bull responsibility for cluster integration, deployment, installation, cooling integration and ongoing hardware maintenance. Giga Computing supplies the servers; HPE Networking provides Ethernet networking; VAST Data supplies the data platform; and Motul provides the liquid-cooling fluid. Scaleway’s announcement
Why Scaleway chose Sweden
Scaleway cited Sweden’s AI and technology ecosystem and its largely low-carbon electricity mix as reasons for choosing the site. The company says the project is intended to expand access to AI computing for customers across Europe.
