The story tells us that SCP-012 was "extracted" by an archaeologist named K.M. Sandoval and his team during the excavation of an ancient tomb in northern Italy, after its apparent destruction due to a storm. At first glance it was just a sheet of paper, but they soon knew it was a musical score with the title "En el Monte Gólgota". That the name of the place where Jesus Christ was crucified should be on that sheet should have set off some kind of alarm… but they needed to know more. Thus they discovered that the work was part of a larger set of scores, and that it was incomplete. That's where the madness begins.
You see, the ink with which SCP-012 was written has no "traditional" natural origin. In fact, it isn't even ink. The mixture of red and black in the strokes is human blood, from multiple people. The power of SCP-012 is to plunge its victims into a state of deep psychosis that forces them to complete the score however possible. Those who end up under the influence of SCP-012 do not hesitate to mutilate themselves to extract their blood and "continue the work". Bitten fingers, severed arms, gouged eyes. In most cases, massive blood loss and internal wounds end their lives, but some have managed to finish small sections of the score. All those who reached that point declared that the piece "is impossible to complete"… and committed suicide.
The Foundation lost two personnel in this way, and as expected, it conducted several "experiments" to test the limits of SCP-012. A suspended iron box at an equidistant position 2.5 meters from the ceiling, floor, and walls serves as the primary containment method.
