The Premise
Side Effect puts you in the role of a 32-year-old man who lives with his wife Lisa and his daughter Jane. For unknown reasons, this man is kidnapped, beaten, and taken to a dark, unknown place where his only companions are rusty medical instruments and the echo of strange sounds in the distance.
Gameplay: Decisions and Sanity
Side Effect is a first-person horror game that focuses on the decisions you make, as they affect gameplay at every step. It's not just about obvious choices, like deciding to save someone. For example, if your character finds himself in a panic situation, he will start to lose his sanity, which means a simple action, like threading a needle in less than five seconds, can become complicated and dangerous. Many different activities await you depending on your character's physical and mental state.

An interesting detail is that Side Effect takes a lot of influence from the canceled P.T. and Allison Road. Let's hope this title doesn't suffer the same fate. Meanwhile, the developers are ready to launch a funding campaign through Kickstarter and a version for Steam Greenlight. Side Effect is being developed by The Drunk Pixel and will be available on Windows and Mac. For now, the game does not have a specific release date.
