The SkyDeck Concept

How different? Well, the company Windspeed has something in mind. Its name is SkyDeck, a special transparent dome located on the 'roof' of the plane, through which two passengers can access a unique view during the flight, even better than the pilots themselves have. The SkyDeck concept comes in two versions: one that moves passengers with a small elevator, and another simpler one with a staircase. In both cases, passengers will have the option to rotate their seats and enjoy the flight in 360 degrees.

Windspeed anticipates multiple variants of its SkyDeck system, including a compact edition for a single passenger. The company says the SkyDeck can be installed on a wide range of existing aircraft, from executive jets to the great titans that dominate our skies. Furthermore, Windspeed says it has considered all the details in the development of the patent, including aerodynamic performance, extra weight, structural integrity of the fuselage, impact tests, condensation, and the inevitable additional fuel consumption. For now, it's just a concept. In a few years, who knows?
