A report said Solidigm notified customers in September 2026 that it planned to add a Taiwan-based ODM production site for data-center SSDs. Shipments from the site were expected to begin in December.

An ODM site, not a NAND fab

The reported project concerns outsourced production of data-center SSDs through an original design manufacturer (ODM). It is not a Solidigm-owned NAND fab: NAND fabrication makes the memory chips, while the planned site is for producing SSDs.

Powertech and Pegatron are existing partners

Powertech and Pegatron are named as Solidigm’s existing Taiwan production partners. The reported account does not assign either company to the proposed site.

Taiwan’s role in the AI-server supply chain

The reported rationale is to expand Taiwan’s SSD supply and deepen cooperation with the island’s AI-server makers, placing the proposed site in a wider data-center supply chain.

This Taiwan production plan is separate from Solidigm’s reported consideration of a U.S. NAND fab, covered in NeoTeo’s earlier article.
