On September 17, some early iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders were reportedly marked “Shipped,” ahead of the first deliveries expected on September 18. The status applies to some early orders, not every pre-order.
How to check an Apple pre-order
Open the Apple Store app and tap the “For You” tab, or check Apple’s online Orders page. Apple may also send a text update if notifications are enabled. A carrier tracking link can provide additional delivery details.
Apple’s reported order-tracking sequence runs from Processing to Preparing to Ship, then Shipped and Delivered. “Shipped” is the third step, before delivery.
The reported wait-time comparison
A September 14 global snapshot put the average wait for iPhone 18 Pro at 14 days, compared with 18 days for iPhone 17 Pro at the comparable point in its cycle. For the larger models, the reported average was 18 days for iPhone 18 Pro Max and 25 days for iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Later U.S. orders had October delivery windows
For later U.S. orders, reported delivery estimates placed iPhone 18 Pro between September 29 and October 6, 2026. The iPhone 18 Pro Max window ran from October 6 to October 13, 2026.

Why the waits do not settle demand
A shorter wait does not by itself establish weaker demand. Delivery estimates also reflect production and inventory, pricing, the product lineup and when pre-orders open; they are a directional signal, not a count of orders.
