The Sony World Photography Awards are the result of the collaboration between the Japanese giant and the World Photography Organisation. Divided into four main categories, the competition celebrates the best of professional and amateur photography around the globe, with over $30,000 in prizes. The first edition of the Sony World Photography Awards dates back to 2007, and since then its organizers have received more than one million images, making this competition one of the most prestigious internationally. Those who wish to participate in the 2019 edition can share their work starting next June 1, while on April 19 we will learn the winners of the Open, Student and Professional categories, an announcement followed by an official exhibition at Somerset House in London.
