Sony’s Japan-only PS5 Pro purchase campaign is accepting applications from residents who meet its account and gameplay requirements. Applicants need a Japan-registered Sony account and at least 60 hours of qualifying PS4 and/or PS5 play; if eligible applications exceed planned stock, Sony will select buyers by lottery. Selection means a chance to purchase the console, not a free PS5 Pro.
Sony’s Japan PS5 Pro campaign requires account history
To apply, you must reside in Japan, use a Sony account registered there for PlayStation online services, and have that account linked to a My Sony ID. It must also show at least 60 cumulative hours of gameplay on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or both, between September 27, 2024, and September 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Sony allows one application per Sony account, for one console. The residency requirement and Japan-only delivery make this a domestic purchase campaign, not a route for international buyers.
A lottery applies only if eligible demand exceeds stock
Sony will draw winners only if the number of eligible applications is greater than the planned stock. Selected applicants must then complete an online purchase through Sony Store; the campaign does not provide a free console or a discount.
Japan price and campaign schedule
The campaign covers the 2 TB PS5 Pro, model CFI-7100B01, priced at ¥137,980 including tax in Japan. Applications close October 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Sony plans to begin notifying applicants of results around October 26. Selected applicants must complete their purchase by November 2, 2026, at 11:59 a.m.
Sony may hold another drawing from November 2026 onward for eligible applicants who lost the first draw if initial winners leave units unpurchased.
