Phoronix reports that SpacemiT has announced the Vital Stone V100, a server-class RISC-V processor with 46 cores: six XiangShan Kunminghu V2R2 cores and 40 SpacemiT X100 cores. The report lists a 2.2–2.4GHz clock range, 120W TDP, eight-channel DDR5-4800 memory support and 52 PCIe 5.0 lanes. Michael Larabel’s report for Phoronix also attributes to SpacemiT the claim that the V100 is the first chip fully compliant with the RISC-V Server Specification.

The reported V100 configuration

The V100 combines two core designs in one processor. Phoronix reports that a server can use up to two V100 chips, for a total of 92 cores. The reported specifications are:

SpecificationReported V100 figure
Cores46: 6 XiangShan Kunminghu V2R2 and 40 SpacemiT X100
Clock speed2.2–2.4GHz
Manufacturing process12nm
TDP120W
Memory supportEight-channel DDR5-4800
Expansion52 PCIe 5.0 lanes
Maximum server configurationTwo sockets, up to 92 cores

The eight-channel memory support and 52 PCIe lanes describe the processor’s server-facing connectivity. TDP, or thermal design power, is a thermal specification rather than a measurement of a complete server’s electricity use.

SpacemiT’s earlier platform demonstration

In a Jan. 9, 2025 release, SpacemiT said its server-platform firmware and software, including openSBI, UEFI, Linux and OP-TEE support, had run in an FPGA demonstration. The company also reported more than 9 SPECINT2006 points per GHz for an X100 core at 2.5GHz on 12nm. That figure applies to the X100 core, not to a V100 system. (SpacemiT’s release)

Earlier core-count reporting and a procurement listing

On Jan. 14, 2025, Tom’s Hardware reported an earlier V100 development configuration with up to 64 cores. A procurement-result notice dated June 24, 2026, lists a motherboard with two V100 chips and a 46-core configuration for each. (Tom’s Hardware’s report; the procurement notice)

That notice also lists 128GB of DDR5-4800 memory, two SATA/SAS boot drives, two U.2 NVMe drives totaling 3.84TB, two 25GbE optical ports and up to 88 PCIe 5.0 expansion slots.
