SpaceX said on October 25, 2026, that the Super Heavy booster preparing for Starship Flight 15 had completed a full-duration, 33-engine static fire. Space.com identified the booster as B22 and reported that all 33 Raptor 3 engines fired for about 15 seconds at Starbase in South Texas.

A static fire is an engine test on the ground, not a launch.

How Booster 22 fits into Flight 15

Space.com reported that Booster 22 was intended to fly with Ship 42, Starship’s upper stage, on Flight 15. The booster’s static fire was a ground-test milestone in preparation for that mission.

Space.com also reported that Elon Musk had said SpaceX planned to attempt the first tower catch of a Starship upper stage during Flight 15.
