SpaceX scrubbed Bandwagon-5’s October 19 launch attempt because of poor weather in the booster recovery zone and is targeting 6:30 a.m. EDT on October 20 for the Falcon 9’s next attempt from Cape Canaveral, Spaceflight Now reported. The new one-hour window opens at 10:30 a.m. UTC.
The revised target and weather outlook
SpaceX’s mission page initially listed a 10:30–11:30 UTC window for October 19. Its launch directory identifies the launch site as Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.
Spaceflight Now reported that the 45th Weather Squadron forecast a 90% chance of acceptable weather at the launch site for October 20. Weather at the booster recovery zone remained a moderate risk, even though it had improved from the previous day’s forecast.
The first stage, booster B1085, was slated for its 19th flight, with a planned landing attempt on the Atlantic droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas, Spaceflight Now reported. The recovery-zone weather was the reason given for scrubbing the October 19 attempt.
Where to watch the Bandwagon-5 launch
The r/SpaceX launch thread identifies this X broadcast as the mission webcast. Spaceflight Now also listed live coverage from Cape Canaveral, planned to begin about an hour before liftoff.
