SpeedyPainter is a drawing program that lets you record the step-by-step process of your drawing in video, but the platform also includes a large number of tools that allow you to draw symmetrically, add reference images, and automatically save your drawings in case of sudden computer shutdowns.
The environment also offers some image-editing features, such as cropping, selecting, flipping, and an interesting layer support that lets you create works with multiple layers. But without a doubt, one of the program's advantages is the video recording (in AVI format) of every step you take while drawing.
Once you download the program from its official page, you'll see its clean interface, from which you can start drawing right away. In the center you'll find the work area, with all the platform's tools on the left and the color palette also on the left. To change the brush color, you choose a range from the color circle and then pick the brush color in the square.
The video recording of your drawing starts automatically as soon as you draw, so you don't have to worry about pressing a button or configuring anything.
As for the video controls, you'll find them in the lower left corner. There are four icons: one is Save, where you save the video when you finish it; another is replay, where you can watch the steps of your drawing; and the other two buttons are for exporting and load.
When you save the video, the platform will ask you for the encoding and compression scheme.
As for the tools, the program includes all the basic functions of a drawing program and also the canvas, portrait, and mirror options, along with the ability to create 3D drawings and symmetrical drawings.
SpeedyPainter is really a great program for creating drawings and recording the step-by-step process of your creation. This feature is very useful for tutorials or in an educational setting. However, in our tests, the drawing recording was captured at a very fast rate, and sometimes following the steps is difficult.
