If there's one aspect that has historically placed Star Trek a couple of steps above other science fiction franchises, it's its attention to the specifications of the ships and bases that appear in its series, movies, and novels. That brings us to the Cygnus-X1 portal, which serves as a kind of database dedicated to storing thousands of general blueprints, technical manuals, visual recognition guides, and texts dedicated to secondary elements such as weapons, uniforms, and instruments.
With more than 10,000 blueprints stored, one is tempted to say that if it doesn't appear on Cygnus-X1 it doesn't exist in the Star Trek universe, but that would be too unfair. Firstly, Cygnus-X1 is constantly updated, and secondly, it's not a bad idea to complement this database with the material published on the formidable Memory Alpha and Memory Beta wikis.
Next, we will share a humble selection of blueprints that our readers will surely recognize easily, but Cygnus-X1 also has data on darker projects, like the famous 'Phase II' that never happened, and ships that don't entirely belong to canon, combining official references with certain liberties that some designers have taken.
