A report published October 7, 2026, said SpaceX’s Starship Ship 40 had returned that day to the Port of Brownsville, Texas. The vehicle was assigned to Flight 13 and was recovered after its Indian Ocean splashdown.

From the Indian Ocean to Brownsville
Flight 13 ended with a reported intact splashdown in the Indian Ocean on July 24, 2026. SpaceX began a recovery effort despite not expecting Ship 40 to be retrievable.
Ship 40 was reported under tow near Christmas Island on August 18. Its return to the Port of Brownsville was reported on October 7, completing the journey back to Texas.
