Stock Tile is an Excel add-in that lets you see real-time stock prices in your spreadsheet. You'll add tiles that display the prices of the stocks you want, all within Excel. The extension uses Yahoo Finance as its data source.
If you create financial reports based on stocks and need to be connected to the stock market in real time, Stock Tile is an excellent way to have all the information in one place.
Installing Stock Tile
First, you need to add the add-in to Excel. You can do it from the extension's link below, or from within Excel by going to Insert > My Apps and searching for it there.
Once installed, you'll see a tile that you can place anywhere on your sheet. You can resize it to fit your needs. At this point, you need to enter the stock ticker so it appears in the dialog box.
Opening Multiple Tiles
But if you need to have several tiles with different stocks in real time, you can do it without any problem. Simply click on "My Apps", select the add-in, and it will open in a new tile, from which you'll see another stock from the stock exchange.
Refreshing Stock Quotes
Stocks update every minute automatically. If you want to refresh them manually, click on the tile and in the top right you'll see an arrow. Click it and select "Reload": the stock will update immediately.
