NSKY (Hallo Northern Sky Planetarium) is an application with which you can study and know all the splendor of the universe. With the tool you will observe more than 30,000 celestial bodies such as asteroids, planets, comets, satellites and stars. One of the main advantages of the platform is that it includes the originals from GSC CD, GSC ACT or the USNO UCAC4 at magnitude 16.
Once you have downloaded the application from its official page you will see its simple interface from which you will have to determine your position (done via a map).
Searches can be done directly by name or by categories (constellations, planets, asteroids, comets, etc.). In the left sidebar you will find the instruments to navigate the universe such as zoom or object markers among other options. With the options 'IN', 'OUT' and 'RESET' you can zoom in and out, as well as readjust the position of the celestial object.
With the “Screen” option you can adjust screen options such as moving and rotating. With the “Objects” tool you will be able to manipulate the magnitude, density and other parameters of a celestial body. From “Date” you can set the time and date to study any part of the universe.
After doing several searches we have noticed that the platform's database is very extensive, which is a point to value for universe lovers.
NSKY is a very good utility to study and explore the universe. If you want to go a bit further you can download the “Large” version or its extras, this way you will expand the database (images, celestial bodies, language, etc.). Regarding the language, you can change it by accessing the configuration option (keyboard shortcut “Ctrl+E”) and then selecting “Settings” and looking for the “SPANISH.INI”. If your language is not there you can search and download it in the “Extras” (on the download page).
NSKY is a free application that is available for Windows operating systems.
