At the beginning of the 20th century, a group of activists emerged advocating for women's right to vote. To raise awareness, they created Suffragetto, a board game that you can now play online or download and print for a physical version.
Before World War I, women tired of being treated as inferior by men began the suffragette movement, a British term for a woman who demanded the right to vote through demonstrations, protests, hunger strikes, and even breaking the law.
As a reflection of the era, Suffragetto, a board game from the early 20th century, was created by members of the British suffragist group known as the Women's Social and Political Union around 1908 (the exact year is debated). How to play Suffragetto
Suffragetto is defined as an original and interesting skill game between suffragettes and police for two players. One player controls the suffragettes, represented by twenty-one green markers, while the other controls the police, represented by twenty-one dark blue markers.
The goal of the suffragettes is to occupy the House of Commons with six markers while defending their base of operations at Albert Hall against the police, whose goal is likewise to occupy Albert Hall while defending the House of Commons. Additionally, each side includes five larger markers representing the suffragette leaders and police inspectors, respectively.
