Super Bowl 2019: The Best Movie and Series Trailers

As always, the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the United States, delivered a pile of highly anticipated trailers and teasers for movies and series. This year's NFL final (LIII) brought, alongside the usual halftime show, previews of 'Toy Story 4', 'The Handmaid's Tale', 'Captain Marvel', and the long-awaited 'Avengers: Endgame', among others. Here at NeoTeo, we rundown all those trailers and how long we'll have to wait for the final products.

Captain Marvel

As we already know, this new character (in film) will arrive to save the Avengers and the entire universe. We're talking about Carol Danvers, a human affected by Kree technology to become the superhero we know. This explanation of her powers comes from the comics and will likely have a similar outcome in one of the later movies of MCU Phase 4.

Avengers: Endgame

It's one of the year's most anticipated titles and the greatest in superhero history. After the event that was 'Infinity War' with that final snap, this sequel will resolve everything and mark the end of an era after 11 uninterrupted years of blockbusters (save for Thor: Dark World). In this teaser, we see the Avengers preparing for the final battle against Thanos.

Toy Story 4

It's scheduled for June 21, and we wonder: will Toy Story 4 be the last installment? A few years ago, when the third part came out, we thought we were at the absolute end. Well, a few months ago we got the surprise news of a fourth one. This teaser takes us to an amusement park, where we see Buzz tied to some wires, like a prize in a game. We also see the return of Bo Beep, who received criticism for the staff she carries. Despite her changed outfit, she was criticized by PETA for keeping the cane, which is used to hook sheep and is considered a symbol of domination. As for the plot, we notice that the toys are no longer with Bonnie for some reason, perhaps because many years have passed. We still lack a lot of info about the story, plus Forky the spork.

Alita

This highly anticipated film will have two heavyweights: Robert Rodriguez directing and James Cameron writing, along with Laeta Kalogridis and Rodriguez himself. 'Alita', based on Yukito Kishiro's manga, takes place in a cybernetic world and tells the story of a young cyborg who is saved and repaired by a doctor, but she remembers nothing of her past and must discover it.

Hobbs & Shaw

The Fast & Furious saga is one of the best action franchises in history, aside from its box-office fame. Here we'll see two characters with great on-screen chemistry: Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). They'll star in the saga's first spin-off alongside Idris Elba as the villain. It's been confirmed they won't appear in the next installment, Fast & Furious 9.

Game of Thrones - Season 8

For those hoping to see a bit more of the final season of Game of Thrones, you'll be disappointed. This was actually a beer commercial that promoted its 'light' line and used the GOT boom for its purpose. That said, we do see a known scene starring The Mountain.

The Handmaid's Tale - Season 3

The third season of 'The Handmaid's Tale' will arrive sometime in 2019; no exact release date has been set. The show airs on Hulu, is inspired by Margaret Atwood's novel, and follows the story of a woman forced into sexual slavery who fights to survive in a totalitarian society.

Wonder Park

Among the less known in a string of blockbusters. Can you imagine an amusement park coming to life? That's the premise of Wonder Park. This animated film from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon hits theaters on March 15.

The Twilight Zone

One of the greatest sci-fi classics of all time is coming back. 'The Twilight Zone' returns with a new season premiering April 1 on CBS All Access. Initially it'll be US-only, but that's been the case with other CBS shows that later ended up on Netflix, like Star Trek: Discovery. In this preview, we see an interruption as if within the game broadcast itself, and there appears Jordan Peele, the director acclaimed for Get Out, who will be at the helm.

Us

Get Out was a huge success in 2017, even winning an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Its director, Jordan Peele, brings us (along with the new Twilight Zone) a horror movie centered on racial critique, in a trailer that scares a lot. 'Us' arrives at the end of March and everyone is already talking about it.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

A new movie comes from acclaimed Mexican director Guillermo del Toro. It's based on the stories of Alvin Schwartz, where kids investigate a series of murders in their town. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is set for release at the end of this year.
