After the exclusive release on iOS, Android users had to be patient for three months to see the number one icon from the big N. Super Mario Run arrives at the Play Store!

Super Mario Run Now on Android: Modes, Price, and Impressions

After several months, Super Mario Run is finally available for all Android devices. Its delay was due to Apple's exclusivity with Nintendo. Despite the wait, Mario does it in the best way in an endless runner worth discovering.

Game Modes

This new Mario title offers a simple game with several modes. World Tour is the classic mode where you'll have to clear levels across six worlds. Kingdom Builder allows you to create, edit, and move your kingdom as you please. The last one is the Race mode, where you can compete against players from around the world.

As for gameplay, something that annoyed me quite a bit are the automatic jumps. That our character runs automatically is already common in endless runners, but that all obstacles we face don't require any action from us takes away the fun.

Cost and Data Usage

Let's get to the hard numbers. As expected, this Android version also requires you to hand over money to get unlockable content. 10 euros are needed to finish the game, a somewhat high price that is paid only once. Also, you'll have to be careful with data consumption if you're not on a WiFi network, as you'll burn through your data plan in just a few minutes of play.

Battery drain will depend on each phone's autonomy. On high-end devices you might not notice it as much, but on mid-to-low range phones it will reduce battery significantly if you spend a long time running and jumping with Mario.

As is usual with Nintendo games released for this platform, if you have a custom ROM installed instead of an official one, it will prevent you from enjoying our plumber friend. So if you want to access Super Mario Run, you'll need to go back to a stock ROM (official).

Mario has arrived on Android officially and for free (initially). With some pros and cons, but with the chance to play for the first time on Android an official title of the saga. You are the ones who will decide the fate of our hero in the Play Store.
