System76’s announced Thelio Prime is reported to have a dedicated Radeon 9060 XT option. On October 29, 2026, 9to5Linux reported that System76 CEO Carl Richell confirmed the option; the compact Linux desktop is scheduled to launch on November 18, 2026.
Reported graphics options
The reported lineup also includes integrated AMD Radeon graphics and dedicated graphics from AMD or NVIDIA. The Radeon 9060 XT is the specific dedicated AMD option attributed to Carl Richell by 9to5Linux. These are reported options for the announced system, not a complete list of launch configurations.
GPU fit depends on the model
System76 identifies the announced computer as model thelio-r5-n2 on its Thelio Prime product page. System76’s separate technical documentation for thelio-r5-n1 lists a recommended maximum graphics-card length of 268.175 mm and a two-slot height limit. Those are n1 specifications, not a fit limit for the n2.
Chassis, storage, and Linux options
Phoronix describes the Thelio Prime as an 11-liter desktop based on AMD Ryzen 9000-series processors, with separate thermal chambers for the CPU and GPU. VideoCardz reports support for up to 96GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory and up to 8TB of NVMe storage.
System76’s product page lists two M.2 slots for thelio-r5-n2, one PCIe Gen5 and one PCIe Gen4, and a 600W 80 Plus-certified power supply. 9to5Linux reported Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS with COSMIC and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as operating-system options.
Planned launch
The reported launch date is November 18, 2026.
