Classic horror movie monsters and urban legends face off in a death battle in Terrordrome: Reign of the Legends, a fighting game from the team that brought us Terrordrome: Rise of the Boogeymen. This sequel focuses more on legends and myths, both in its characters and its respective scenarios, while incorporating conspiracy theories as base material for the story. In this world, legendary and mythical characters fight each other in an attempt to become the only dominant force in the world. The story unfolds from the perspective of Alex Van Helsing, the last descendant of the Van Helsing family, a paranormal detective and monster hunter, whose journey has taken him beyond his typical vampire hunting.
After decades of research and preparation, Van Helsing is about to take his plan to the last step: the defeat of Dracula and his cabalistic empire with the help of supernatural powers and legendary allies; alongside Van Helsing and Dracula, characters like Frankenstein, Mr. Hyde, Sasquatch, Bloody Mary, White Lady and Wendigo, among others, make an appearance. This sequel tries to be a commercial game, so it includes public domain monsters and others that have clearly been renamed but reference known horror movies like T.H.I.S. (alluding to Pennywise, the dancing clown from It).
Huracan Studio has just launched a funding campaign on Kickstarter. The game needs $99,228 to be funded and all those who contribute will get gifts like a copy of the game, soundtrack and concept art, among several more prizes. Terrordrome: Reign of the Legends is being developed by Huracan Studio and will be available on Windows. The game has no specific release date but it is estimated to arrive during the fourth quarter of 2019.
