On October 11, 2026, Tesla AI engineer Yun-Ta Tsai announced that Grok @Bot had been enabled in Cybercab and Model Y vehicles operating as robotaxis, according to an Infobae report published the next day. The reported voice assistant can handle tasks through passengers’ linked accounts, and Infobae says it signs those accounts out when riders leave.

What passengers are reported to be able to do

Infobae describes Grok @Bot using Tesla Connectors—tools that link the assistant to a passenger’s accounts and apps—to carry out requests by voice. Reported examples include:

  • Adding an item to an Amazon shopping cart
  • Sending email
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Ordering coffee

In an Austin ride, journalist Sawyer Merritt demonstrated adding laundry detergent to an Amazon cart, Infobae reported. That example sits within the U.S. Robotaxi service context: Tesla News Wire and TeslaNorth characterized the rollout as limited to that service. The reports name Cybercab and Model Y vehicles operating as robotaxis; they do not describe a private-car rollout.

What happens when a passenger leaves

Infobae reports that the passenger’s account automatically signs out when the rider exits, with the aim of preventing the next passenger from viewing or resuming earlier tasks. The same report does not detail the sign-in process or how long account data is retained.

Cabin footage and passenger privacy have also figured in a separate incident involving Waymo; NeoTeo’s earlier coverage describes that case.

Alex Finn’s Cybertruck demo was separate

Grok Bot in Alex Finn’s personal Cybertruck: voice commands for delegated tasks, calendar scheduling and navigation.

Infobae dates an earlier Grok Bot launch in Tesla vehicles to September 22, initially for SuperGrok Heavy subscribers. On that same date, creator Alex Finn published a demonstration of voice-controlled tasks in his personal Cybertruck. His video shows him asking Grok Bot to draft posts, schedule calendar events and navigate to a coffee shop. It is a personal-vehicle demonstration, distinct from the reported Robotaxi deployment.
