Although these are not the best years for the most popular space franchise of all time, this news can delight more than one fan. The documentary The Making of The Empire Strikes Back from 1980 belonged to the late French journalist Michel Parbot, who specialized in this type of work.
The documentary shows the behind-the-scenes of the most successful film in terms of box office and also critical acclaim. The first saga of the franchise was never surpassed, neither by the second saga, which was a prequel, nor by the sequels released in recent years, already under Disney's control, which left fans of the saga quite dissatisfied.
Until now, only very limited fragments of this documentary could be found, but it had never appeared complete anywhere. In fact, it was in the hands of Lucasfilm, which for unknown reasons never published it, and it never even had its television premiere.
The person or people behind this find go by the name Adywan on social networks and are also responsible for the fan edit of Star Wars Episode IV Revisited. We don't know if Adywan refers to one person or several, but on the social network Facebook they appear under the name @swrevisited and are currently working on the remastering of Episode VI.
It is very interesting to see the changes that can be appreciated in the revisions of Episodes IV and V, where we not only see improvements in image and sound, but Adywan also adds new shots, using equipment from that era so that the mix is not obvious.
