Elder Scrolls. Beyond serving as the title of one of the richest sagas in gaming, their power within the games is truly incredible, and today we can say that two of them have taken physical form. Bethesda got in touch with Volpin Props to commission their construction, and the result is simply marvelous.
Anyone who has played any title in the Elder Scrolls series knows that when one of those artifacts appears, trouble is guaranteed. Of unknown origin and with a power that can bend even the will of dragons, the Elder Scrolls exact a terrible price from those who try to understand them, beginning with progressive blindness and, in certain cases, the deepest madness. In Skyrim, one of them is used to displace Alduin through time, but most players have more present in their minds the Elder Scroll that Serana carries on her back, as if it were a weapon. Some Serana cosplays on the Web are fabulous, but they would reach perfection if the cosplayers had a real Elder Scroll in their possession. Well... guess what?
Real Craftsmanship from Volpin Props
Yes, Bethesda commissioned Volpin Props to build not one, but two Elder Scrolls. The leather of the handles is goatskin, the stones are a combination of epoxy and amethyst, and the scroll itself is made of linen, which can also be unrolled just as it happens in the games. The details on its surface are extraordinary, courtesy of superior quality in the original molds, and the extra touches that give it a certain appearance of having existed for a long time. Technically speaking, the project is not recent (Volpin Props published the video in December 2017), but time means nothing to the Elder Scrolls, even when it comes to replicas.
