Throughout this year we'll have a flood of games full of new challenges, with lots of ingenuity, action, fights, huge worlds to explore and extreme horror to have fun with to our heart's content. And for that we've prepared a report with the best games coming in 2017.

The Best Games Coming in 2017
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

Days Gone: One of the ones we know little to nothing about is Days Gone, a PlayStation 4 exclusive that puts you in the shoes of Deacon, a former bounty hunter who must survive in the middle of a zombie apocalypse set in an open world that will allow you to use everything at your disposal to survive. The game features a day and night cycle, where enemies will be weak and slow during the day, but fast and aggressive at night. There are also vehicles, like motorcycles, which can be used to explore the game world. Days Gone is being developed by SIE Bend Studio and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017.

Detroit: Become Human: An action-adventure narrative from the creators of Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, where you'll control several androids looking for their place in the world of humans. Your actions not only shape their fate but you can even die without affecting progress in the game. This will make the story of Detroit: Become Human branch out depending on the choices you make. Also, gathering clues at crime scenes allows you to reconstruct and replay the events that occurred there. Detroit: Become Human is being developed by Quantic Dream and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017.

For Honor: Get ready to enjoy an action game that requires attention, skill, and strategy. This mix of Dark Souls and Dynasty Warriors will put you in the armor of knights, samurais, and vikings facing hordes of enemies and bosses of particular difficulty using a novel combat system that adapts to the fighting techniques of the different factions. For Honor features a campaign mode that will show you the perspectives of the main characters within each faction, and an online multiplayer mode with several modes to face off against other players. For Honor is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting February 14, 2017.

Halo Wars 2: This title is the sequel to the 2009 game where we delve into the Halo universe from the real-time strategy genre. This time a new alien race known as “The Banished” are our main threat in a story mode of thirteen missions that you can play cooperatively, as well as several online modes for up to six players. Halo Wars 2 is being developed by 343 Industries and Creative Assembly and will be available on Windows and Xbox One starting February 21, 2017.

Another of the exclusive PlayStation 4 titles is Horizon Zero Dawn, where you'll play as Aloy, a hunter from an isolated village in a land full of robotic creatures and dinosaurs. Seeking to see the world, you'll have to use role-playing and action tactics along with survival elements to hack these creatures and thus defeat them, gathering supplies along the way to help you discover the truth of your isolation. Horizon Zero Dawn is being developed by Guerrilla Games and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 starting February 28, 2017.

The sequel nobody expected. The first game based on DC Comics characters was decent but not memorable, though it did have constant updates and a great story that was already adapted to the comics. This sequel will add many new characters from the DC universe, like Gorilla Grodd and Supergirl, who will face a more dangerous threat than these characters are capable of handling. Injustice 2 is being developed by NetherRealm Studios and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android starting May 16, 2017.

Knack 2: The sequel to one of the forgotten launch titles for PlayStation 4, which aims to be a better job in the 3D platform genre. Knack 2 will add new moves, improvements to cooperative mode, new environments, and the ability to drive a tank and control a robot. To ensure this new installment succeeds, the shape-shifting golem game included Marianne Krawczyk, one of the writers of God of War, on its creative staff. Will it bring what's needed? Knack 2 is being developed by SIE Japan Studio and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 in the second half of 2017.

Lego City Undercover: The huge series of Lego games explores a new genre with Lego City Undercover, an open-world police game in the style of Grand Theft Auto that finally reaches new-generation platforms. As a good representative of the franchise, it doesn't lose the series' humor, presenting situations ranging from gunfights with simple enemies, to chases, and even fighting loose dinosaurs across the city, building your own gadgets whenever you need a solution. Lego City Undercover is being developed by TT Fusion and will be available on Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in the first half of 2017.

One of the most anticipated games of the year is Mass Effect: Andromeda, but don't worry if you haven't played the previous ones because this is a new story in the saga. Andromeda takes place six hundred years after the first trilogy and will let you play as either Sara or Scott Ryder, to whom you can assign different types of abilities from the start of the game. This role-playing and action game once again presents a massive open world, but communication will be the main tool with which you'll complete the missions of finding new planets to colonize. Mass Effect: Andromeda is being developed by BioWare and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting March 21, 2017.

Outlast 2: This sequel is the continuation of the successful 2013 title. This time you play as a cameraman searching for his journalist wife after being separated in the middle of a village inhabited by a cult while investigating a murder. As a professional, this time the camera has better infrared, zoom, and even a microphone to detect sounds at a distance, which you'll need. Also, it's important to add that the cameraman wears glasses, which limits the player's vision if they fall off. Outlast 2 is being developed by Red Barrels and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One during the first quarter of 2017.

Prey doesn't present itself as a classic horror game... if being locked in a spaceship full of monsters isn't something that scares you. In this first-person action game you'll have to survive various threats by exploring the ship, acquiring skills and weapons to defend yourself against aliens that can change shape. Meanwhile, all your actions will change the course of the story. Prey is being developed by Arkane Studios and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting May 5, 2017.

Sea of Thieves: Microsoft presents Sea of Thieves, an open-world game populated by pirates where not only do you have to form a crew with your friends, but you'll discover new lands fighting against other ships and creating your own tools along the way. Sea of Thieves is designed to be played with friends but also has a solo campaign. Sea of Thieves is being developed by Rare and will be available on Windows and Xbox One sometime in 2017.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole: After a long development period, 2017 will also welcome The Fractured but Whole, the rude play on words that gives its name to the new South Park game, spiritual successor (if not direct sequel) of The Stick of Truth. This adventure full of imagination from the South Park kids seeks to parody the superhero scene a bit, expanding the game mechanics and also adjusting to a more complex and challenging combat system. South Park: The Fractured but Whole is being developed by Ubisoft San Francisco along with South Park Digital Studios and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in early 2017.

Fulfilling its role as a classic fighting game of all times, Tekken 7 adds two new mechanics: Rage Art, a critical attack you can perform once your life hangs by a thread; Power Crush, on the other hand, lets you keep hitting your enemy even while you're taking hits, dealing and receiving damage at the same time. The game will feature thirty-seven fighters, including Akuma as a guest character from the Street Fighter franchise. Tekken 7 is being developed by Bandai Namco Studios and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting June 2, 2017.

All eyes are on the new The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Nintendo's new console, which incorporates survival mechanics, dynamic climates, a strength system, resistance, temperature, and total freedom when facing missions. Breath of the Wild is one of Nintendo's most ambitious games and perhaps the game of the year. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is being developed by Nintendo and will be available on Nintendo Switch and Wii U starting March 3, 2017.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands: From the hand of Tom Clancy we'll receive Ghost Recon Wildlands, the first open-world game in the saga and according to Ubisoft the studio's largest open world. This third-person tactical action game requires a lot of strategy and coordination with artificial intelligence or your friends to complete missions in the forests, mountains, and deserts of Bolivia. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is being developed by Ubisoft Paris and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting March 7, 2017.

Another of the most anticipated games is definitely Yooka-Laylee, a love letter from Team17 (a studio formed by former Rare members) to games like Banjo-Kazooie, which were among the best of the Nintendo 64. Yooka-Laylee, fortunately, will be released for all new-generation consoles, including PC. This new intellectual property will put you in the bond between a duo of friends made up of a bat and a chameleon, who seek to collect all the pages of a book to prevent Capital B and Dr. Quack from stealing all the world's literature. Yooka-Laylee is being developed by Playtonic Games and will be available on Windows, Linux, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting April 11, 2017. There will also be a version for Nintendo Switch but it doesn't have a concrete release date yet.
