What was once an extremely expensive piece of hardware now appears as a very accessible option, offering a wide variety of brands and specifications that cover almost any budget. In other words, the projector has ceased to be something unattainable, and more and more users are daring to replace monitors and televisions with the projector and white screen combo. This time we will present five models that have been very popular during this year, and that also do not seek to burn a hole in your pocket.
The idea of replacing a television with a projector is not crazy at all. The only two things the user needs in their favor are a wall or a white screen, and a dark enough environment to help the lamp. This represents a little extra work if we compare it to installing a television, but anyone looking for that feeling of 'home cinema' will not think twice and will do whatever the projector demands. As could not be otherwise, the market offers us models that cost hundreds of euros, but our goal today is to take the first steps into the world of projectors, with products that have been very well received by the public, beyond their basic specifications. DBPower RD Mini
The fact that you don't need to burn a credit card to buy a projector is demonstrated by the DBPower RD Mini, which offers a native resolution of 800 by 480 pixels, a screen size ranging from 20 to 80 inches, 120 lumens of brightness, and 20,000 hours of life for its LED lamp. The number of connectors is decent, and its USB port opens up a possibility to connect a pen drive and watch material from it. (100 euros)
Tera UNIC GM60
A detail about the specifications of the Tera UNIC GM60 is that they report a brightness of a thousand lumens. Something tells me that this number is a bit inflated, but this slip does not alter the overall quality of the projector. It shares the same resolution as the RD Mini, however, its screen extends up to 130 inches, supports 1080p playback, and the SD slot gives us another extra option for loading movies. Several users even connected a Chromecast to it, without any incidents. (87 euros)
Excelvan UC40
Another very popular model that stays at the same level as the previous two. The Excelvan UC40 is a bit wider in terms of direct controls on the projector, but don't worry: The remote control is there, although it does not come with the necessary batteries. It is especially recommended for playing movies and series, with some kind of external solution when it comes to speakers. For its price, these are reasonable demands. (80 euros)
Crenova XPE350
The Crenova XPE350 is probably the most humble in the list in terms of specifications, but 'small' does not mean it is bad. Its strongest point is portability: What it sacrifices in resolution (480 by 320) it recovers by using conventional USB power, so you can connect an external battery or another source and make projections wherever you can think of. If this model is not enough, the XPE450 is identical to the GM60 above. (82 euros)
Cheerlux C6
To finish for today, we come to the Cheerlux C6. This projector can get into the ring and face any of the models we mentioned above, but it has an ace up its sleeve. Many users want to watch television on the projector, and the Cheerlux C6 allows us to do exactly that thanks to its built-in digital TV tuner. If the goal is to replace a television, you might want to take a closer look at it. (90 euros)
