I suppose 303 wasn't enough, huh? That's the problem with "anomalies": anyone with a rational mind would try to keep a healthy distance, but we... we go back for more. And you'll have more, if you can tolerate SCP-939. The specimens are already disturbing on their own, but what the Foundation has done with them is even worse. They are not here to take care of you, never forget that...
A Bloody Discovery
October 28, 1981. That day the Foundation first encountered SCP-939, and there was blood. You know how this works: the masterminds lose an agent, send three teams armed to the teeth to recover him... and lose a couple more, but they return with a gift. SCP-939 had the advantage from the start, and those guys learned the hard way what it could do.
The Creature
We can't blame them either. Do you know what Chauliodus is? Those abyssal viperfish they show you on National Geographic? Imagine those teeth, six centimeters long, on a hybrid between a dog and a giant lizard, and you'll have a good idea of what SCP-939 looks like. Its body is covered in red, the product of something similar to hemoglobin, and the claws on its limbs make it very skilled at climbing and gutting. The file indicates that most of its systems are atrophied, and more than one expert here suggested that "they were weak", but nothing is further from the truth. SCP-939 does not hide its appetite, and it can rip your head off with one bite.
The Amnestic Gas
I know... above I said "they". You're paying attention, and that will keep you alive here. You see, when studying SCP-939, the Foundation discovered that it emits a gaseous substance, AMN-C227. It's a "Class C amnestic", and the Foundation always looks for new amnestics (I think nobody knows for sure how many minds it has erased). Its general use was approved in 1990... until the people who received it began to disappear. One of the side effects of AMN-C227 is that those under its influence feel attracted to SCP-939's dens. The Foundation believes it can use the effect to detect and eliminate wild instances of SCP-939. The Foundation has done much more than that.
The Offspring
In September 1992, the first instance of SCP-939 gave birth. It was about twelve months of gestation according to the file. Five healthy specimens, three males and two females, but one was stillborn and the mother devoured it. The rest is... hard to describe. SCP-939's offspring are children. Morphologically and genotypically impossible to distinguish from real human children. The Foundation ordered... ordered the vivisection of four of them. At the same time, they let one of the females grow. The first signs of mutation began in 2001. Multiple pains, labored breathing, sensitivity to light. Fever. The... "girl" asked for a huge container full of water. She got in and... began to tear off her skin. Her head fell off. Everything that made her human was left behind, and only an SCP-939 remained.
They Talk
And they talk. All SCP-939 talk and mimic voices perfectly. That's how they hunt. You hear a familiar voice, you approach... and they rip your head off. They talk without vocal cords. They have no digestive system, but their hunger is constant. And they don't stop, they keep talking. The "girl"? She was sent to Area-12 for Bioresearch, and there they dismembered her. She is stored in thirteen cryogenic tanks. Every time they experiment on her tissues, she keeps talking. She asks to be released.
