The alpha of the multiplayer mode of Doom is currently underway. Two teams of six versus six face off on a map where you can grab several weapons and have the possibility of turning into the powerful Revenant demon. Unmissable!
If you were hoping to see even a hint of gameplay from the new Doom, you're in luck. The closed alpha of Doom's multiplayer started on Friday and ends today at midnight. Participants can try Team Deathmatch, where two teams of six go head-to-head on the Heatwave map. This industrial environment, already showcased at the last E3, offers a limited arsenal of six weapons (like rocket launchers, plasma rifles, shotguns, and similar) and two very interesting elements: the Demon Rune, which allows a player to become the Revenant demon, and the Gauss Cannon, a powerful weapon specifically designed to counter the effect of the Demon Rune.
The video is captured from the three versions of the game: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows. It's worth noting that this alpha is not the beta, which will be accessible to those who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order in May of last year. The alpha is an earlier state, only for some players, as it offers a very limited amount of content compared to what will be seen in the beta (hence the small number of weapons and players). The intention is to encourage players to play as many matches as possible during the closed testing period of the Doom alpha. And speaking of gameplay, you can see lots of shooting, explosions, portals, power-ups, and the new melee executions, among many other things, which will delight fans of the series. Doom is being developed by id Software and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game doesn't have a concrete release date yet, but it's expected to arrive during the second quarter of 2016.
