From Shinji Mikami, the mind behind Resident Evil, The Evil Within 2 brings the acclaimed franchise to a new level with its unique blend of psychological thrills and true survival horror. Taking control of detective Sebastian Castellanos, you must descend into a nightmare world to rescue his daughter.
Mobile is a corporation that, with the goal of bringing "peace and order" to the world, created the STEM device, which connects human minds to an alternate dimension. After the events of The Evil Within, detective Sebastian Castellanos was fired from the police department, and no one believed his story. Desperate for clues, Sebastian becomes frustrated and turns back to alcohol, until three years later, his ex-partner Juli Kidman returns to inform him that his daughter Lily, believed dead for years, is still alive but was captured by Mobius as a test subject for Union, a STEM world created from Lily's brain.
Union, a reflection of Lily's mind, is extremely unstable, and Sebastian must hurry to rescue her and unravel Mobius's conspiracies before it's too late. Meanwhile, he must face different assassins who were subjected to this Union, and confront his own personal fears and past traumas. Like its predecessor, The Evil Within 2 is a survival horror played from a third-person perspective. Now the maps are larger and there are multiple ways to advance through a level.
In The Evil Within 2, you have an element known as the "communicator", which helps highlight objectives, resources, and enemies that appear in the game world. It will also reveal resonance points, which provide clues about what happened in the world of Union. You can now explore the map area freely to complete side objectives and search for resources (which are scarce). When engaging in confrontations with enemies, you can attack them directly using weapons or move stealthily to catch them off guard from behind and kill them silently. The Evil Within 2 is being developed by Tango Gameworks and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting October 13, 2017.
