With Grand Theft Auto V's arrival on PC, the community went to work and delivered a huge number of mods. And this time we come across a very special one called NaturalVision Remastered, the new 4K graphics mod for Grand Theft Auto V.
Blurring the Line Between Fantasy and Reality
Since its arrival on PC more than two years ago, Grand Theft Auto V has accumulated a catalog of mods made by the fan community. From the sublime to the ridiculous, there is something to suit every play style, but this time we find an impressive project called NaturalVision Remastered, the new 4K graphics mod for Grand Theft Auto V. Developed by Razed, this mod introduces numerous changes to the environmental system, the lighting system, and the colors of the map with the sole purpose of blurring the line between fantasy and reality. The goal with this mod was to make Grand Theft Auto V visually resemble Southern California. To achieve this, the developer watched over forty hours of video, investigated various areas of Los Angeles and Salton Sea, and poured over hundreds of photos to achieve what you can see below in the NaturalVision Remastered trailer.
All of this was necessary to produce the most realistic visual experience currently possible with the game engine of Grand Theft Auto V. A curious detail that Razed mentions is that it took him over 1,200 hours of work over six months to completely remaster the game. The aesthetics behind NaturalVision Remastered were inspired by Forza Horizon 3, Watch Dogs, Grand Theft Auto IV, and a variety of other games. Numerous environmental details were taken from those titles and reproduced in Grand Theft Auto V. There are many optional add-ons included with this mod, ranging from a texture color revision package to lighting adjustments related to LSPDFR. It also includes an optional ENB and ReShade package, which generates minimal effects like sharpness and ambient occlusion. Developed by Razed, NaturalVision Remastered is available for free download. Remember that you need a fairly powerful machine to run this beast.
