The Nightmare from Beyond: A Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror

Independent studio The Domaginarium presents a trailer for its upcoming third-person platformer. It is The Nightmare from Beyond, a cosmic horror adventure inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, where you will face dangers worse than death itself.

The Nightmare from Beyond is a third-person cosmic horror platformer inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Here you assume the role of Sanja, a young woman of the D'nyg race, as she explores a mysterious land in search of her twin sister, Dajana, who was kidnapped by a mysterious cult. There, Sanja will discover what that place is, what is happening, and why her sister was kidnapped. She will also be in constant danger, because indescribable horrors are watching her with every move she makes. In the trailer you can see below you have a good look at the world of the horror game and some of the beings that inhabit it.

The story of The Nightmare from Beyond will take you to discover an oppressive and exciting tale about corruption and immorality, inspired by different works of the Cthulhu Mythos such as The Dunwich Horror and The Shadow over Innsmouth. As for gameplay, you will have to explore various environments, venturing into different labyrinthine areas ranging from mysterious ancient temples to strange alien locations. There will also be several environmental challenges characteristic of a platformer such as jumping over pits, clinging to ledges, climbing structures, and solving puzzles to advance in the search for Dajana.

Throughout the adventure, Sanja will find different artifacts that will help her acquire new abilities and therefore reach new areas to learn more about the mysterious location she is in. If you want to discover the truth, you have no choice but to make your way through a hostile land with dangers worse than death itself. The Nightmare from Beyond is being developed by The Domaginarium along with the support of the Government of El Salvador and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. For now, the game does not have a specific release date.
