The machine belongs to Nicolas Maigret, who stated that the proposal is to represent traffic in a physical form, to visualize how it is used by millions of people worldwide. The video includes the IP address of the source (partially disguised) along with the country of origin. Maigret specifically includes this information to show how these transfers are publicized, and how easily they can be monitored.
