Welcome. In September last year we shared an introduction to the SCP Foundation multiverse, its immediate goals, and above all, what kind of threats it faces. Monsters. Manifestations. Aliens. Even a simple drawing or an idea can kill within the Foundation. If you want to know more, you might ask where exactly to start. I'll make a humble suggestion: The original SCP, SCP-173.
It is undoubtedly one of the most enigmatic and dangerous creatures ever captured by the Foundation, although the term "creature" wouldn't be entirely valid. Nobody knows absolutely anything about its origin. Nobody knows if it was built, if it "was born", or if it came from another existential plane. The only two priorities for the Foundation are the analysis and containment of SCP-173. At first glance, SCP-173 conveys the feeling of an unfinished sculpture. Experts have concluded that it is made of concrete and corrugated steel. The paint stains on its surface were made with Krylon brand spray paint, almost like an act of vandalism. In other words, SCP-173 seems harmless… until you see the blood.
The prison of SCP-173 is covered with a substance of unknown origin, a repulsive mixture of blood and excrement that must be cleaned every two weeks. The poor souls (or maybe not?) responsible for cleaning can only enter the facility in groups of three at minimum, an extra precaution against the horror and extreme hostility hidden by the sculpture. SCP-173 remains in a state of absolute immobility as long as someone maintains direct eye contact. Blinking is not even allowed, and each team member who needs to do so must warn the rest. If eye contact were to break, SCP-173 will kill every person within reach. The attack is fast and brutal, with a special preference for breaking the victim's neck at the base of the skull, or strangling them.
Several staff members assigned to the containment of SCP-173 have reported strange noises coming from the prison... like stones rubbing against each other. For now, that activity is considered normal, and SCP-173 has not made any attempt to escape, but it's only a matter of time. It's always a matter of time. Remember: Don't blink. Don't stop looking at it. If you do, you will die.
