Instead, we got a very watered-down version with a heavy script straight out of the WWE. The problem isn't following that format, but doing it badly. Wrestling has special matches, provocations, heroes, villains, champions, and losers. And if you want to see something like that with robots, there's only one destination: Japan.
The videos we share here are part of "Dekinnoka", a "Robot Pro-Wrestling" tournament that is about to reach 40 editions. The robots enter the ring, introduce themselves, dance, and show off their costumes. Some of the fights are directly theatrical, with robots throwing bubbles and making gestures or poses in front of their opponents. The main event involves the reigning champion, Saaga, who enters the ring with his belt crossed over his chest. Multiple rivals, even bigger than Saaga, have tried to take that belt. His battle with King Kaiser at Dekinnoka 35 was very tough, but the white warrior managed to come out ahead.
The best way to stay up to date with "Robot Pro-Wrestling" is to visit the official Dekinnoka channel on YouTube. Edition 36 was published in full (the stream lasts no more than two hours), but you can always access a digest with the summary of each event. Now... we need this to explode.
