In February of this year (it feels like 50 years have passed), the web was turned upside down by the mystery of Mrs. Maria Snoeys-Lagler and her photo album, in which she appears surrounded by Hollywood celebrities. But the most notable thing is that that album ended up in the equivalent of a discount store. Now, the truth is that some of those stores around the globe receive much stranger things than an album full of actors, whether through donation processes or through acquisitions from other stores. Some of those objects deserve to be documented, and an Instagram account is doing the heavy lifting...
Its official name is Thrift Store Art, and with 185 thousand followers on Instagram, it's clear that many people are interested not only in seeing these strange discoveries, but also in sharing their own. Just across the pond, there are more than 3,000 stores under the Goodwill chain, and as we've observed on YouTube (with entire channels dedicated to thrifting), they receive anything.
