The Story
South Park: The Fractured but Whole occurs after the events of South Park: The Stick of Truth. The kids of South Park begin a new adventure, once again set in the fictional city of South Park in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, becoming superheroes in a role-playing game. However, a fight over Cartman's planned movie franchise divides the kids into two groups. Those who join Cartman become Coon and Friends, while the rival group Freedom Pals calls their own franchise, starting a civil war between the two groups.
Gameplay
The gameplay of South Park: The Fractured but Whole puts you back in control of New Kid (the new kid in the neighborhood), but now you have the option to choose the character's gender. As New Kid, you must accompany the quartet of Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman in this cheeky new RPG adventure with a story by Trey Parker and Matt Stone (creators of the series). The game features twelve superhero classes and you can form a team of up to thirteen members; this is important because you can combine your special powers with the rest of the characters to annihilate anyone who stands in your way.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole features a new combat system that offers opportunities to master time and space on the battlefield, plus a revamped loot and crafting system, giving you the freedom to develop and refine your powers as you progress. One interesting detail: if you pre-order the game, you'll receive a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth (ideal if you haven't played it yet). The game is being developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting October 17, 2017.
